How does the Water Diet work?
The role that water plays in your body includes maintaining the highest level of liver functionality and flushing toxins from your body. The Water Diet performs colon cleansing as well. It also helps rid your body of toxins that build up in your system because of poor eating habits.
Overweight people often suffer from dehydration and this can affect their metabolic rate, helping to keep them overweight. Two diets that seek to overcome this situation are the Water Diet Plan and the Lemon Water Diet. The focus for both is on one basic nutrition item, and that is water. There are no strange restrictions on what foods to eat and no high-priced additives. A requirement on the Water Diet is to drink one gallon of water each day as one way to lose weight. You will lose pounds faster by increasing your metabolism with an optimum level of hydration. You can drink soft or hard water or whatever is available in your area.
Another advantage of the Water Diet is that it is free. However, beating a frequent path to the bathroom is a disadvantage. Relying on water as your one and only nourishment source means that you are not taking in any calories, but are only expelling them, in this case, your weight loss will be extremely high. If you were not drinking that much fluids or water before starting the water diet, you may find yourself making frequent trips to the bathroom. You could even hear or feel a sloshing sound or feel bloated. Do not let that make you quit. It takes a little while to get used to a water diet, but the results will be worth it in the end.
On the Water Diet, if you are feeling cold and need to get warm, you may sip warm water, but make it an exception, not a rule. If you feel comfortable otherwise, then drink cool water only. On this diet, you drink at least 64 ounces of cold or cool water during the day, in eight servings of 8-oz. each. This is to be taken as an addition to the normal liquid intake of the dieter. The water can be bottled water, tap water or any kind of water so long as it is safe to drink. Chewing on ice cubes is not recommended on the Water Diet and this practice is discouraged in trying to make up the water intake quota. Also, exercise is not part of the Water Diet.
Water Diet
The water that is consumed should be plain, and not have any additives; coloring or flavoring except you may add fresh squeezed lemon juice. You do not have to pay for expensive diet water. Minerals are present in most community water supplies and they are difficult to avoid. Those kinds of minerals are acceptable, so long as nothing else is added, and you don’t buy any that is advertised as having any kind of additives or flavoring
Apple Juice
The only other fluid to be consumed on this diet is apple juice, while you are on the ice water only diet. If you do not have a juicer, you can eat fresh apples. When you drink ice water the body must warm the water and some calories are burned in this process. This is a way to have negative total calories, because you are burning more to process your intake that the calories you consumed which in this case is zero. If you have hunger cravings during the Water Diet or the Lemon Water Diet, you are free to eat some melon or other fruits.
You do not have to feel hungry as you are allowed to eat as many apples as you desire. If you crave sugar, you can eat certain vegetables. For instance, you can get needed sugar from carrots and they will help you to feel energized as well. The recommendations are to eat raw vegetables rather than cooked for their superior nutritious value and low calories along with a good multi vitamin.
